Gearbox Case 580CK David Brown

I have an early Case 580Ck backhoe with a gearbox problem. it will not stay in reverse gear. The compliance plate says 'David Brown tractor'. Is it wise to replace the gearbox with a David Brown tractor gearbox? It looks exactly the same. Did these early backhoes just use the David Brown tractor ?

Great question. I have a 1968 Case 580 CK and there is no mention of David Brown on the machine anywhere. Perhaps Case did something different with export machines that is nominal to comply with import rules?

G'day Aussie good to see another one on board :thumbsup::welcome:. Some David browns were sold here as case if you look up Magnet spares in Tamworth and talk to Jack he is a wonderful knowledge on all things DB and a great bloke to talk to ( just give yourself a bit of time he doesn't mind a yak).
