60 inches doesn't even begin to strain the BX2200 even at just 20% power. A 72" would have been the ticket so long as you could get it to rotate. And even the rotate thing isn't all that important. Now that I have some experience, I am pretty confident that I will always use it plowing backward with the blade un-angled (straight back plowing).

Re: Gee wiz I wish I had gone 72\" on the RB

rOGuE, I have a 72" Woods RB on my B7800 and just started using it this weekend to plow in reverse. Funny thing is the dealer told me the blade would reverse, but that it wouldn't do it on my tractor, in other words, I'd have to somehow reverse it while it was on the ground. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif When I put it on to dig some ditches this summer, I had to play with it, of course, and try all the angles and tilts. I noticed that in trying to reverse it the only thing it seemed to hit was the hitch. Sure enough, yesterday I put it on in the forwards position, removed the hitch and it turned just as pretty as you please. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif You'd think the dealer would have figured that one out.

In any event, I agree that the RB works well for plowing. I angle mine, so most of the snow doesn't end up back on the drive. If you are just doing clean-up, like pushing the edges back to make room for more snow, then you might try angling it and see how it goes.

Good luck.

i have a 72 in on my b2400 and i have the same problem, the tractor can handel the 72 but i can only reverse it when it is off. hits the 3 pt. a small pain in the BUTTOCKS, but the extra width is worth it.

You fellows aren't the only ones with back blades that have to be dismounted to rotate.

Re: Gee wiz I wish I had gone 72\" on the RB

One of the things I did with a 7' blade on a 50HP tractor was offset the blade pivot point about a foot. That allowed it to rotate while mounted to the tractor, though you could only rotate it one direction. Made it easier to get closer to one side of stuff as well.

Might work on a CUT also. Good Luck.
