GEHL 1090 Haybine and MF 124 Baler... advice?

I'm new to farming and have been looking for the implements to do haying.

Here's the MF124 thrower baler. It seems like its in good shape and it's working:

And here's the Gehl 1090 Haybine:

This one I'm not so sure about. I read elsewhere that it's not a great machine, but I am looking at used so I'm aware that I'm not buying high-quality. I know very little about balers/mowers/rakes, etc., so if these models are high maintenance, please let me know!

If you've got any advice/input on either of these models, that would be great! I'm looking around $4300CDN for buying them both at once, instead of $2500/ea. Thanks.

Well you are going to need a wagon or two to toss the hay into and a rake to windrow and turn over the cut hay, although this mower will output a windrow if selected. A rake or tedder rake will subtract a day or so from total drying time.

Only real issue is where do major parts come from? eBay has some items for the mower (cutter knives and stone guards), Baler needs twine and maybe some teeth occationally. A dealer close by is all I would want for comfort.

Get manuals and a parts book for both (also eBay). Read over the adjustments NOW before you go out in the fields.

I'm buying a rake and wagons separately. I can't afford to wait an extra day for drying, it's too risky here. There's an MF dealer close by, and a lot of other farm stores around so getting parts for the Gehl shouldn't be a problem.

As for manuals, I found the Gelh "Parts" manual on eBay... is this what I'm looking for, or is it simply a list of parts? I would need more of a service manual.
