There is a gehl 1375 round going up for auction next weekend. I have already looked at seems to be in good shape. I am currently running a hesston 5500. Would the gehl be an improvement I think it would at 20yrs newer but not sure. How are gehl parts to get? Please give any pro's con's on the gehl. Only small operation making a 100-200 rolls a year. What would be they price range on these.

Thanks

I had a 1475 and it served me well. It didn't seem to matter how you fed it (the pick up head) it made a nice even tight bale. But they have withdrawn from the ag market and focused on the const. side or things. Check with your local dealer for future parts avail.

Ten to twelve years ago, I was using a Gehl round baler; sometimes over a hundred rolls a day and it was a very fine machine. However, it was new at the time and I don't remember the model number. But now, I'd agree with the others who replied. I'd have to think twice about buying one now.

Gehl stopped making farm equipment a few years ago, and all they make now is skid loaders. Parts are getting to be a real problem to get.
