Hello for my first post....
I've borrowed my friends New Holland TT75A, 4 wheel drive, with front loader and 1 rear remote several times for my 2+ acre yard work. I really appreciate being able to use the tractor and want to repay him by giving the tractor a good servicing.
Strangely enough, he does not use the tractor. He bought it for use to mow pastures and general work by his son in law and son's. I put a few hours on it and it hit me to check the oil, fluids etc. I used almost a tube of grease on this thing. Bad sign for me so time for more checking.
I don't know what they are called, but on the 3 point hitch, the 2 vertical tubes.... Towards the bottom there are what appears to be grease zerts, but it looks like they are broken off. Are those supposed to be grease zerts? Or just round silver looking bulbs.
I also want to change the oil for him since it is as black as a black crayon. I just don't know where to find the drain plug, how much oil to get, or what kind or weight oil to use. I see a couple filters, but don't know which one is for the oil or fuel. All filters say New Holland and more than likely, they are the original filters. Heck, I might as well change the fuel filter while I'm at it.
What I call the throttle fritction control, or the lever on the dash to adjust the throttle.... does not work, I've been using the foot throttle. I can look thru the slit and see the connector on the arm, but no cable. Is this something I can just stick the cable back in and give it a good crimp? Or do I need to get a new cable assembly?
I'm not going to fool with the front wheel seal. Seems like a huge job and there is enough things I will take care of for him.
Looks like I may be using this tractor for pasture mowing and I want it to be in tip top shape. No owners or service manual so any pointers are very welcome.
Thanks for any advice,
Jeff
