I seem to have a collection of vertical shaft single cylinder engines commonly found on riding lawnmowers. 12-16hp range.
Some of these are still in frames of old lawnmowers others are sitting on a shelf.
Id like to do something productive with them, and the idea of converting one or more into generators sounds appealing.
Most standard generators are direct drive.
anyone converted a vertical shaft to horizontal shaft operation? is there anything fundamentally different between the 2?
is there a source for 3600 rpm gen heads for direct drive on 12-16hp engines?
anyone bolted a genhead to the front of an existing riding lawnmower.... belt driven off the exisiting drive pully?
