I have a new to me generator that Uncle Sam no longer appreciated. It's a MEP-831a. Basically it's a 3,000 watt inverter generator powered by a Yanmar diesel. Picked it up for $550. Thank you to all who have paid their taxes on time. Anyways, I'm going to mount the generator on a small trailer that I can pull behind my atv. The generator already comes with a duplex outlet on the control panel, but there are no other power options. There are some split lugs for making a higher amperage connection. I'd like to put a distribution block on the trailer with several different types outlets. Earlier I picked up a couple of outlets; 20 and 30a twist lock and 30 and 50 amp 4 prong. I also grabbed a couple of gfi duplex outlets so I can have more than two cords plugged in. But I'm at a loss for how I want to install the blocks. I was noticing the standard in-use covers really don't provide enough clearance for a 220v plug and it's heavy cord.
I was wondering if any other members have built a generator power distribution block? If so, please post pics of your setup!
