The recent posts about licensing have me wondering...if I do bush hog work, land clearing, etc. for someone for profit, do I need a contractors license in Ga?
This type of licensing is regulated by the city and county where you are doing business. Some government bodies, I would guess most, do not require a license but some probably do.
That is an interesting and timely question for Georgia. Georgia has never required building contractor licenses until this year. Their new program is just coming into effect and will take most of the year to become fully active. By next year you will have to have a license to pull a building permit if you are doing building work for hire. Now for the type of work you are talking about I am just not sure but suspect that it is not required yet. You do want to look into insurance requirements if you are doing work off of your property for hire.
Not too worried about warranty, as mine is almost up and besides, it's a Kubota!

Seriously, though, I am not too rough with my machine.
Just wondering; have you checked to see if you need a basic business license? I assume you have talked to an agent that handles business insurance. They are usually quite knowledgeable about basic business practices in their area.
Cheaper than a lawyer, too. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
