Semper Fi Mr. Barton! I repaired M-60 tanks in the USMC. Re-built many a 12 cylinder Teladyne-Continental engine from the crank up in 29 Palms and Okinawa.

Ah, 29 Stumps, brings back some memories, not necessarily the fond type. I made many TAD trips there in 68 & 69 from MCLB, Barstow. We use to consider Palms the armpit of the MC. One just couldn't get from there to anywhere else easily. For those stationed there they had to take the liberty bus to Palm Springs to catch any public transportation. Most guys back then were without wheels. The base had good facilities but the town was something else. I suspect it has changed, like most other places, quite a bit.
