I have a little used accout with these guys.....what density did you price out?, it seems light compared to what I bought here...http://www.fabriscape.com/images/6oz. Nonwoven PDF.pdf and this was b4 the hike in oil prices. and yes make sure its non woven
/ GeoTextile Fabric: other brands? any driveway advice?
2015 John Deere 5115M, 1928 and 1945 hand start John Deere D's,
Flathead, our driveway is just over 400'. It is soft here, with clay eventually. We used woven fabric and pushed the driveway in through standing water in a wet year. I used min 4" crushed concrete for the bottom 6"+ and then 2" of 1 11/2" down for the top. It is solid. It didn't move even with the concrete pumper when we were building and we have water against it in the spring. I will be topping with some 3/4 down crushed rock this summer, as it is just a little less mucky when wet from rain. I have talked to numerous people in our area and a minimum 6" is recommended to allow the rock to solidify over the fabric otherwise it will "float" on the fabric and stays soft( I have seen it). I would also not cut into the natural soil and go over top to give any water the ability to disperse. Our driveway was not cheap but is solid and I plan to be here for a very long time with no driveway problems, it is tougher than the road leading in. I'm sure the fabric easily paid for itself by preventing numerous loads of rock from disapperaing into the ground.
