The Atlanta C/L has a 1700 yanmar and says it's a 2003 model.
I felt that I should make them aware of the correct year so they
could correct the ad.He asked my if i didn't have better things to do
and to GET A LIFE!!
This is the crap that hurts everyone.

Ha! thats funny as I did the same thing when I read His /her ad, I expected a reply but never got one, I'm sure he has received numerous responses advising him to correct his ad, some people refuse to be told anything other than what they believe

I don't know why you're looking at that machine when there's a 2006 YM1700 that comes with a trailer, mower and back blade. 2003 is 3 years older than 2006, so it must be worse. Newer is always better, no matter what, right? :laughing:

In all seriousness, it's too bad his reaction was to become angry. It's clear that he's deceitful and trying to fool anyone he can; otherwise he would have reacted much differently. Ignorance is one thing, but malicious deception is infuriating. It's not that involved to Google search and figure out that the machine isn't only a few years old, but if a person had previously bought in good faith and never investigated things, it's reasonable he might list it as he understood things to be. Were he just ignorant, he would responded much differently when informed. Thanks for trying, at least.

There are plenty of smart alecs among the tractor and attachment dealers also. I ran into 2 just in the last few months nobody seems to care what they say or who they say it to anymore. Merry Christmas to you too!

Hold on just a second.......are you guys insinuating there's a chance this tractor ISN'T a 2004 model??2004 Yanmar Tractor 2cyl Diesel 24 hp w/PTO, updated 12 volt system runs great! | eBay :laughing: Doesn't appear to be 4x4 either!....and didn't know any of them were originally 6V systems. Also a "One owner"....I guess thats not a lie....."I've been the only owner since I bought it"! Just what DID this guy get right??

I know, I know....for $1499 and no reserve you guys on the left coast are thinking, "Yeah, the guys a dishonest moron w/ a VN recon but I'm gonna watch it anyway." We'll see if it makes it 9 more days w/o Ebay pulling it.

I looked back at the ad I had read about ,
I found it was of a 2006 Ym1700... Perhaps I was misinformed when I bought mine about the year make being a 1979, after all mine looks just as new as the 2006
I'm looking for the New 2012 ym1700 to hit the market any day now

Here it is on Fresno Cragslist for $2,450.

But selling it after he put on a brand new starter, radiator, head gasket, and a second temperature gauge leaves me wondering what else might need fixing. That's a VN loader. Another observation - the engine model he specifies is from an early YM2000 while this 'B' hood and cowl represent the final year. Could be a Frankensteinmar.


Here's one up in my part of the state for $3,000 [hopeful] / 'but am open to offers' that needs transmission work - won't shift to high range. Maybe this one is less mutilated.

Note both of these are 2 wheel drive, and misrepresented as 4.

I really can't justify another tractor. At all. I've got my YM240 already, that does everything I would want from a 2wd machine. I've got a tremendously frustrating 240D project that was functional until I decided to "improve" it by adding an auxiliary hydraulic pump to speed up the loader.

The listed one is rougher than the low resolution shots imply. If one looks at the ebay photos and zooms in, it's obvious that the headlights are missing, pant is scraped off, and stuff like that. But...if there had been a "Buy it now" at $1499, I'd be making arrangements to drive to Clovis. :laughing: For ~$2500, it's no longer worth it to me, and I'm content with my array of project machines as-is. Plus, even as used as it is, it's nicer looking than the rest of my tractors. They'd start to get jealous!
