Oops. He'll have to sell it on Craigslist now.

I wonder if someone complained to Ebay that the ad was a gross misrepresentation. That wasn't me - but I did send him an 'ask the seller' noting the variances. :D

You might be in luck for another .

Here it is on Fresno Cragslist for $2,450.

But selling it after he put on a brand new starter, radiator, head gasket, and a second temperature gauge leaves me wondering what else might need fixing. That's a VN loader. Another observation - the engine model he specifies is from an early YM2000 while this 'B' hood and cowl represent the final year. Could be a Frankensteinmar. :D

Used in the production of Frankenfoodplots no doubt.

But...if there had been a "Buy it now" at $1499, I'd be making arrangements to drive to Clovis. For ~$2500, it's no longer worth it to me, and I'm content with my array of project machines as-is.

What about at the "reduced for quick sale" CL ad price of $1.950 it mentions further down in the description? I might even suspect a scam if it didn't list a phone number. I have to admit, at $2000 I'd take the risk since it has the FEL, ROPS, good tires, and according to the Ebay ad he had likely put several hundred hours on it and from the new parts list he's obviously worked out some of the VN bugs. Even though it's a recon, I think at $1950, it's either a potential bargain for someone or a money maker.

The Atlanta C/L has a 1700 yanmar and says it's a 2003 model.
I felt that I should make them aware of the correct year so they
could correct the ad.He asked my if i didn't have better things to do
and to GET A LIFE!!
This is the crap that hurts everyone.

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Ha! thats funny as I did the same thing when I read His /her ad, I expected a reply but never got one, I'm sure he has received numerous responses advising him to correct his ad,:D some people refuse to be told anything other than what they believe;)
Merry Christmas back at you:thumbsup:

I think i should correct him as well! This sounds like it could be pretty funny!

I agree. While there might be a lot of bugs to work out, that price leaves room for significant repairs if needed. That model is so simple there just isn't much to repair. Like anything, we won't know if it's a bargain until someone sees it up close.

I ran the phone # in the ad. It's a fancy riding lessons / dresssage / horse broker / lighted show arena type operation. I can't find it on Google maps but some of the horsey neighbors look to have 10,000 sq ft homes with outbuildings, arenas etc in proportion. The neighborhood looks like a collection of country clubs. This may be just disposal of a tractor that has both given them problems and is not showy enough for that environment. Cant find replacement headlight bezels; sells the tractor.

This might be a rare opportunity, for someone with some time to put into it. Heck it looks a lot better than my YM240 that I paid double that for, and after a month of tinkering mine has run 8 years now with no issues whatever. (Well that I didn't cause myself, like ripping off loader hoses moving downed orchard trees ).

Fresno is kind of remote away from California's major population centers, which limits his market to mostly locals unless he nearly gives it away.

If I had transport and some use for it I would go down (250 miles), test it out, and likely buy it. But I don't, so I won't.

I'm looking for the New 2012 ym1700 to hit the market any day now;)

You're in luck! I have a brand new collector's edition YM1700, 33HP, 4x4 which is even more valuable since the factory added wood trim and mislabeled it a YM336D and accidentally stamped it with a 1981 serial number! Just imagine how your neighbors will envy your smart buy of such a rare tractor, which was factory broken-in with 1242 hours of test time! Just knowing that alone, you can rest easy knowing that every possible mistake has been corrected. The factory was even wise enough to disable a known issue with other, lesser, YM1700's, the 1st and 2nd gears! After all, you don't want to be the slow guy on the block, 3rd and 4th are for real men!

Only asking $17,000! I'll even throw in a boom pole, just because it is the holidays!

Act fast, as I have a buyer standing in front of me with cash in hand, but because I like you, I'll give it to you first.

Ho-Ho-Ho!
