From my previous thread "How do I fix this leak"

I took the hose off and the threads in the nut and the threads on the cylinder are stripped. I need to remove the hose and the cylinder to get it repaired. I was told they would need to weld on a new fitting on the cylinder and re-crimp a new fitting on the hose. Since they cant do it while its installed on the tractor I am going to remove them myself.

The trick is now how do I pull the hose out from the crossbar frame of the loader. It is really tight and I dont know how hard I should pull. Also once you pull it out how do you thread the new hose back through the frame?

Thanks for all the suggestions so far on the other thread. I had not been able to get back on to check the replies. Thanks for all the help.

Jason

I've never had to pull the hoses on my KL130 but there MIGHT be hose retainers somewhere inside. I don't think my parts manual covers the loader but I'll check in the morning.

Once you do figure out how to get it out though, just tie a piece of stout rope to the end before you pull it through. When you get your repaired hose back just tie it to the end of the hose again and pull it back through.

Do you know how the fittings got stripped?

Good luck.

Takes a lot to strip the fitting on the cyl. I've cranked those hard on other machines and never stripped one.

I probably stripped them myself by overtightening the nut. I tried pulling the hose out but the fabric jacket gets bunched up and it wont pull more than 4 or 5 inches. I am afraid of damaging something else. If I cant get the hose out I plan on getting a new hose made and running it on the outside. Thanks.

When you get your new hose made, ask them for a swivel adapter. Install the adapter on the cylinder fitting, then put the hose on the fitting. I try to never install a hydraulic hose directly to a component, always a fitting in between. Why? Just because of what happened to you.

Jason, attach a piece of mason string/line to your bad fitting. (make it 5'-6' longer than your hose.)

Wrap masking tape around the fitting to smooth any edges that might get hung up in the fabric sleeve.

Inspect each fabric sleeve that the hose is in and snip any zip ties that might hinder your extraction along the way.

As you get into the sleeve, try twisting the hose as you pull.

As you get close to the end, tie the far end of the string to something so you don't pull it all the way through. You'll be using it to pull the hose back through.

I will give it a try. Thanks for the tips!

You may be better off pulling all of the hoses at once. I upgraded my loader arms to the new style and had no problems. I can see where just pulling one may be difficult.
