Hi,
I recently got my Kubota L3540 2 weeks ago with a trailer, woods rotary cutter. But then i realized i down have a finish mower. I have a push mower but it is hard to think that there is a kubota tractor sitting in the garage. Should i buy a small lawn tractor or a finish mower for my kubota?

If you mow 1+ acres rear discharge finish for the Bota. Less than that it's kinda wasting time. It takes longer to mow a small area with a big mower than the same area with smaller rider or a zero turn.

How much "lawn" do you have? I have about 1 1/2 acres to cut and I just use a JD LA140 ;)

I don't know about you.. but I use my machine for dirt and brush work more than I mow the grass.

It depends on your needs. Many here use their machines mainly for mowing, if that's the case it makes sense to use your tractor for that, others here have a mowing machine, and other tractor(s) for larger jobs.

I have my 35 hp TLB for general work, a skid steer for when I'm doing just loader work and a couple of lawn/garden tractors for mowing and towing a small utility cart... My life is easier because I have several options.

The money issue shouldn't be a factor in this decision, a good finish mower for the 3pt or a mid-mount mower will cost about the same as fair to good grade lawn tractor.

If your going to get something to just mow with and the yard is smooth, I'd get Zero Turn mower.

What kind of tires are on your tractor? R1 or R4. If get a finish mower you can always look on Craigs list for a deal.

Try and keep new deck size w/old deck size..same amount of mowing time.

Just for mowing nothing else,Sears doesn't have bad product.

In my opinion, if you're regularly mowing more than a push or walk behind can handle, you're mowing too much. Just let the other go and use a bush hog on it a couple times/year or maybe even only every other year, depending on what you need to keep down.

If you mow just because you like to do it, get another hobby or volunteer for something.

I would buy a separate riding mower to mow the lawn. Easier to manuever and less likely to bump into something and do major damage. Less hours of run time on a more expensive tractor too.

I use separate riding mowers, separate loader and backhoe, tractors without a loader in the way. Makes work a lot easier to me.
