I am looking at the Mahindra 4530 and 5530, which I know are very similar, but I may want the extra PTO HP offered by the 5530.

Anyway, I am getting FEL, Box Blade, Brush Hog, Grappler, Disks, Bale Spear, seeder and perhaps forks. Man that is going to hurt! I cannot justify the cost associated with a back hoe although I sure do want one. If I get a medium grade grapple do you think I would be able to use that with my FEL to get out stumps?

If I go with the 5530 I am not sure there is a need to fill the tires considering it is a tank, but I will listen to arguments. :D

I will have hooks added to the FEL

Now what else do I need? I have read extra remotes are nice, but I am not sure how many I need and where they should be placed.

I own 27 acres that needs lots of work. About 10 acres pasture, that need a serious overhaul and I need to do some logging (light) and lots of brush clean up. Help my poor 1000 foot bumpy driveway. Move round bails... etc...
I have a quote for both with FEL?..Does the increase for the 5530 seem unreasonable? How do the prices look overall?
4530 $19,600.00
5530 $22,200.00

I live North of Houston in New Caney

Thanks,
Troy

Are there any 00 series left in your area? Might save you enough to make it a no brainer on the extra horsepower. I have the 6000. Not much difference in the 00 series and the 30 series.

Those are real good prices. I know they don't have the shipping costs that I do, but believe me, they are gooooooood prices.

Troy,
Where are you getting these quotes? I bought my 6520 4 WD w/ KMW 275 loader AND a Bradco 511 backhoe from Top Flight Equipment on FM 105 just east of Conroe. Their number is (936) 756-9797. Tell anyone you talk to there (if you haven't been there before) that Brandi told you about them.:) They will treat you nice. They usually have a 4530 and a 5530 on the lot.:D Yesterday morning they had a 5500 ;) sitting there also, along with two 6520s and one 7520. They have good service and an excellant mechanic.
Oh yeah, if you need a backhoe for some work, let me know. We can work something out. I am two miles east of Willis.
Oh yeah.............Rake Sales in Cleveland can set you up with any style grapple. Rakesales.com They can include it with your tractor package if you like.
hugs, Brandi

Don't know about the prices, but I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt you should load those rears before you take delivery. When I test drove my 6000 4wd/FEL, I noted that with the bucket off the ground (tractor on gravel), every time I let out on the clutch, the rears (then unloaded) would turn slightly (in forward or revervse). This was with nothing in bucket. I can't imagine how light the rear would feel with a ton or so of rock in the bucket. As far as remotes, what will you use the tractor for? For haying, you should get 2, if you aren't gonna use more than one cly in the rear, you only need one. However, more is better (I only have one on the 6000 and it rarely gets used--but I don't hay with it). BobG in VA

Truth be told I did not look for any. I thought the 30 series looked to be a better tractor that would last longer.

I sent them an email, but never got word back. I was going to go up there with my sister because she owns a logging company that buys all their equipment from them. In addition, I have already purchased a really nice chainsaw from them. My sister said if she went up there with me she would speak with the owner and get me a good deal. :D

The prices I listed are from a dealer in Cleveland which is very responsive to emails.

I want to go up there, but I can only get that way on Saturday, but I have had to work the past couple. I have to work this Saturday as well, but after that I am free.

I could see needing a backhoe for several weeks, but after that the need will go to very seldom. If I paid someone to grind out my stumps the amount of time I need it would go way down. Maybe a couple weekends would do the trick. My pound, stream and other areas need some love. I really appreciate the offer to discuss the use of your backhoe. I will touch base with you once I get the tractor.

So you like your tractor? What do you use it for?

Thank you for the response.

Nitrors4,
If you are meaning the dealer east of Cleveland on FM 105, please do yourself a favor and go talk to Travis the salesman or Bill, the owner of Topflight. I have a friend over in Liberty that bought a 6500 from the Cleveland dealer and had warranty issues and didn't like the service. I heard he has some good deals, but can back it up with good service.
I have bought a chainsaw and a Hustler Fastrac zero turn mower from Travis along with buying Snapper parts for years. They have never let me down. Both of their mechanics are great mechanics and great in service also. So please check out Top Flight, you won't be sorry. Oh yeah.........Top Flight works on a lot of equipment purchased from the Cleveland dealer.
I am clearing 5 acres of mess left by loggers. I have a gully running through my place that the backhoe will clean out as time allows and numerous stumps. The BH thumb is great for restacking burn piles also.
Oh yea,..........got a pond to dig.
Travis and Bill are real busy. I usually can't even get them on the phone as they are saleing tractors, trailers, and lawnmowers. I just drive over with my questions. I would rather buy from a "busy" dealer than a not "busy" dealer. Busy means they will be around a while longer.

Nitrors4,
I stopped by Top Flight today. Travis has been so busy, Bill added a new sales girl. Her name is Cindy. Travis said he will email or even call you. Travis told me that the place in Cleveland is also a Hustler lawn mower dealer and customers have been bringing their Hustlers to Top Flight for warranty work that have been bought at the Cleveland dealership. This fits what my friend with the 6500 said about their service.
hugs, Brandi

Cool, I would prefer to buy from Top Flight since my sister has had such good luck with them and I was pleased with my chainsaw purchase. Just need to clear my schedule so I can get over there for a look. I am in the middle of a big project. FUN! After this weekend it will be all downhill. :D
