Glad it was only my truck

Bushhogging this moring and hit a rock that was propelled forward, never have noticed anything of any size go forward, and saw it hit the back passenger door of my truck. Not a huge dent but very noticeable and was visual from the 30-40 feet I was away. Really drove home how anything can go in any direction and glad one of the kids wasn't out there. I always make sure they are a safe distance away and they know not to come towards me until I've given them the thumbs up. Who knows how far that would have went if it wouldn't have hit the truck.

Hate the dent but could have been worse. Now to ponder how something that big went forward. I was ducking my head for the next 5 hours of mowing everytime I hit anything.:laughing:

Good to hear no one was hurt trucks can be replaced or repaired little harder for humans...Sounds like my neighbor son several years ago brush hogging in his dad field ,cannot remember what he hit if anything but next thing he knew tractor and brush hog was shaking very bad. Shut off pto ,lifted the brush hog and shut off engine. Went and looked up under the brush hog ,one of the blades came off the 5'or 6' brush hog..This took place 4 or 5 yrs ago to this day they have never found the blade. I went up and helped them look for this blade.We all wonder what would have happened if blade came forward toward the tractor.
He was mowing in a 10-15 acre field.. Field has been mowed every yr at least 1 or 2 times a year.

Not bush hogging but when I was a kid my dad had a rear engine mower. Like a old Snapper but it was a Ariens. Anyway the motor went and blew a hole in the side of the block. I can not remember what came out of it but it went though our siding, 1/2" osb, insulation, and into stuck out the drywall in the family room about 4 feet from the couch. Pretty scary.
