anybody have any cheap ways to make a gland removal tool without buying one. trying to remove cylinders on front end loader. or another tool that will work?
You may have to clean the paint off the threads on the nut, to get the nut off. If the whole end keeps turning you may have to put it back in the loader and pressurize the rod end of the cylinder to keep it from turning to get the nut off. Number 16 is the snap ring that holds it together. Remove the nut #18, drive in #13, do not damage the threads for the nut. Remove the snap ring in side the barrel and then it will come apart. #13 is held from coming out by the snap ring and the nut keeps #13 from moving into the barrel. You have to unscrew the nut on the end with the notches. Then drive the end of the cylinder in to remove a snap ring. Then it will come apart. Watch the video.
