glass windshield and roof for XUV

Looking for feedback on your purchase. I'm in contact with Prosum equipment but would love feedback from forum members about this manufacturer as well as other options. Machine is Gator 850D (2008.)

I have a metal roof and glass windshield from fortress atv. Purchased it through a local dealer. I have had it since 07 with no problems other than the sound deadening material needing to be re-glued on the roof after a couple of years. The only thing I was not sure about when I bought it was the how much of the view the metal frame for the windshield blocked but after a few days it was not even noticed anymore. The bottom section of the windshield is removable for summer time use to get more airflow.

I would suggest a glass windshield...The poly ones scratch too easily.

Agreed. Even the JD dealer gave me that advice.
I'm trying to find people who've actually bought from Prosum Equipment or from Fortress (I've got an inquiry in to them) to get feedback about those products. Both feature safety glass windshields in metal frames.

Sorry..Now that I saw the title of the thread you were going glass..my bad.

Never dealt with them...But I believe there is regulation around safety glass, so you should be OK if you like the design.

Everything I have bought from online retailers for ATV's and UTV's has been exactly what they claimed on their sites...Be careful, but it appears most of the retailers in this space are pretty good.

Highly recommend the glass with the removable lower section. A must in hot weather.

Working with Prosum now on a heater for the new xuv - I went for the factory deluxe cab as I REALLY like the one on my 2007 hpx and at $2k is not that much more (ok only double) than what I've seen for a hard top with glass front and rear windshield

Good news is Prosum has been great and for heaters I cannot see anything else that is close as far as design and price.:thumbsup: the JD factory heater really is the poorest excuse for a design I've seen from them - your feet freeze and the rest of you burns up - heat rises duh:confused2: and at $1.1k usd golly darn. plus it sits in the passengers lap wowzer Price delta is more like 3.5x - double I might take but...

Bader news is the factory cab has not been upgraded on the 2011 and now I'm not sure if it was the right thing to order. I just saw my Oct ordered 2011 xuv 625i W/cab (no doors) today and have a running post in the JD pricing forum about it. I'd for sure on an older unit go with prosum - now I'm wondering about a new one
If the deal goes through I will be getting the Prosum heater and post pics - promise:drink:

I'm seriously looking at these for my rtv but they don't offer the doors or rear. How does the metal hold up? Is it light weight or nice and heavy duty? Is the over all quality nice?
