Does anyone have a recommendation for waterproof (or mostly waterproof) work gloves? I would use them mostly for working outdoors in the woods, near a creek or in wet areas moving rocks, fallen trees, etc.

I just use rubber coated cloth gloves I get from Menards. They're cheap, work well at keeping my hands dry, and hold up to abuse reasonably well. I usually have several pairs lying around the barn and keep a pair on the tractor and in the glove box of my truck and UTV.

Yeah, and in cold weather use glove liners, either cheap cotton gloves or thinsulate glove liners. Buy the rubber shells oversize for this.

I sometimes put on a set of thin nitrile or vinyl gloves (like the ones you use when working on greasy stuff in the garage) under my rubber coated cotton gloves. You get great gripping power and the thin inner gloves work like a diver's wet suit. Hands stay warm

All good tips but what if you have large hands?
Did the boxing day thing and tried on every pair labeled 'large' at Sears and 'Mark's' without finding a fit.
At a flea market last year I purchased 3 prs fur $10. but was fooled in that only one pair of the bundle actually fitted my hands.

Now I tried mittens and gloves to no avail.

It's not as cold here as anywhere else, so this might not help. I tried a variety of so called waterproof gloves for duck hunting and just whatever Cabelas and Bass Pro had for sale that all failed fairly quickly. They where also too bulky to use my tools, so I was always taking them off and on.

Then while cutting tile in the winter, I got the idea to try dishwasher gloves. I went to the local grocery store and bought the heaviest, thickest pair that they had. Ten years later, they still work great!!!!!

Waterproof-

I use these every day, twice a day stoking my out door wood boiler:

ACRYLIC LINED PVC KNIT WRIST - Kinco(R)

They work great for this, wear them about 15 minutes, and they go back on the shelf. They are EXCELLENT for this and I can even pick up hot coals with them.

If I try to wear them out and about cutting wood or or other long term tasks, my hands sweat and they are wet until i put them on the boot dryer to dry them out. Not good long term.

I carry both of the following gloves for long term chores:
12 Pack Showa Atlas 451 Atlas ThermaFit Gloves - X Large: Atlas Therma Fit Gloves: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

12 Pack - Showa Atlas 37 Black Work Gloves - Large - - Amazon.com

The white and grey are my go to winter gloves, they are my favorite gloves by far, fit well, grip great, last forever, cheap, and you can double them up for really cold weather.

The black ones are great for fine motor skills, mechanics gloves, or when the white ones are too warm.

I usually wear the black cutting with the chainsaw and switch to the white ones for loading and stacking.
