Glow plug flashing before start (ck30)

Hi All, The past few times when using my 2008 kioti ck30 gear tractor I notice that when I turn the key to where the glow plug comes on, the glowplug light flashes for a few seconds, then goes to a steady on. In the past it would go to steady on with no flashing. It still starts and runs fine. Any thoughts appreciated.

Harness plugs may need cleaning. Under the left foot board, there are 2 main harness plugs. Pull the plugs, clean them out, add a little dielectric grease and plug back in.

Try that first. Should do the job.

I found 3 plugs under the left floorboard. I keep the tractor indoors so i think they are good and clean. I was able unplug and inspect 2 of the 3 plugs.
The plugs look brand new and clean inside.

I forgot to mention that when the glow plug light flashes, i can hear the relay clicking. It clicks about 4 or 5 times and then goes on steady like normal.

Check the plug at the relay. They can sometimes get loose or dirty. There is a plug in the bottom of the glow relay. Pull it and clean if necessary.

From there we will go to the combination switch, but check the glow relay plug first.

Problem solved. I disconnected and cleaned the 3 relay plugs on the firewall as suggested.
Now my glow plug light stays on rather than flashing. Thanks MichiganIron.

my ck30 has the exact same problem each winter. Never in the warm weather.

My CK30 did it again one time the other night. It was a very cold night. I wonder if it is because my battery is getting weak.

Michigan Iron mentioned cleaning the plug under the floor board earlier. Sounds to me he is on the right track and you may have a little condensation or water in a plug. Take compressed air can and blow out all plugs, reassemble with dielectric grease previously mentioned. Sometime we find this after pressure washing or just cleaning the tractor.

Do the same with your relays.

If this does not resolve replace glow relay. After that you will need to replace the key switch. The key switches seem to have a mind of their own sometimes.
