Have a Farmtrac 300DTC with a Mitsubishi 4 cylinder. It has been a little hard to start when cold here in NC. I have heard of relay issues but not confirmed. If I measure 8 volts at the glow plugs when timer is engaged is this good or bad? I measure 11.8 across the battery while heating the plugs. I'm going to pull the glow plugs and measure resistance, the book says .55 ohms. The timer seems to be working correctly. Also does anyone have a NGK or Champion glow plug # for this model.

I am not familiar with your machine but glow plugs I have worked with get at least 11v to the plug.

U don't need to pull the plugs. Remove the leads from the plugs and then take the reading from each terminal to ground. That will be your resistance. Each should then read .55 ohms as per your book.

I am surprised your battery reads 11.8 volts while operating the plugs. Would expect more drop than that.
8 at the plugs also odd as I'd expect same as at the battery while plugs are drawing.
I'm suspecting something in between like contacts, grounds etc.
Naturally assuming that your battery is in good shape.

Battery seems to be in good shape. Used the same ground for both readings, I also thought 8 volts at the plugs was odd and re grounded. Alligatored to the top of the plugs.
