Hey guys,

I have a d1500 that needs a new set of glow plugs. I have done some searching on the net and auto stores and can't seem to find anything for them. Does anyone know of a conversion chart for NGK glow plugs? My specific plugs are NGK y-201 at 10.5v.

Thanks for the help, I love this forum.

What engine class does that 1500 have? I think I know a guy that can get some that fit that model or know the cross reference number if its the engine family I am thinking of. Send me a P.M.

In the big picture they are not obsolete, they are just not profitable for generic parts stores to stock or keep available.

I worked in an auto parts store in the late 60's when the VW was first around. The books that we used for electrical was way out on the points and condensor sets. We learned and substituted the correct ones after sending out the wrong ones for a bit.

You need to go to a dealer, through the years we've sold many brands under many labels and I'd lay odd's we would have them by description or to see one.

Got a pic of it? Several of those import engines take the same one.
