Has everyone seen the GM commercial that features Ed Whittaker boasting that GM has repaid it's Federal loan with interest, 5 years ahead of schedule

Ed Whitaker is nothing more than a government puppet. I've been driving for nearly 50 years and I have never owned any American made car and never will...end of story.

Have any of those GM vehicles been a truck or truck based SUV? I haven't read where a '99 Malibu has been mentioned as one of the problematic vehicles.

95 Safari, 98 Astro, 05 Silverado, 08 Sierra, 07 Silverado. Son = 04 Astro, 05 Sierra, 08 Sierra. Company vehicles = Silverado / Sierra. 0 Ford. 0 Dodge 1 Tundra - sold after problems. Son's FIL used to drive Dodge / Ford now has Sierra HD. Friend with construction CO used to buy Dodge / Ford now GM fleet.

Knock GM all you want. Ford loves to advertise they sell more trucks than anyone. Add GMC / Silverado together and who sells more trucks. Dodge, if they could pair the cummins diesel with Allison trans and get fit / finish solved maybe they could be #1.

It is indeed unfortunate that millions of North Americans have this same attitude. International trade is based on nations having something others actually want. Manufacturing is disappearing in NA. The US is not self sufficient in oil. What do investors and foreign governments do with all their unwanted USA $$ - they buy US companies and real estate. Maybe when people wake up one day and the US is owned by foreigners the light will go on.

As the bumper sticker says "Out of a job yet? - Keep buying foreign!"

I'm a Ford stockholder...I get a quarterly report and a dividend check...what did you get for your ownership of GM/Chrysler?

Let's ignore 2008 / 2009 and all the years before if that helps your case. For example:

2008 F Series = 515,513 Silverado / GMC = 524,609
2009 F Series = 413,625 Silverado / GMC = 428,386

Ford was extremely lucky / fortunate that in 2007 someone had the foresight to line up billions in future financing or they would have been in the same mess as GMC / Dodge.
