Every year I trailer in my quad to work to go around the parking lot and other area to spray the weeds. Instead of bringing in my quad for the day and having everyone here ask if they can ride it, I was thinking of finding power at the back of my truck and hooking up my sprayer to that. It does not take much juice and can be run off a cigarette lighter.

My options are to run wires to the front direct to the battery, or find out what wires on a trailer harness I could use to plug into to get constant power.

Any ideas?

Check to make sure you have the charging fuse installed also or you will not have pwr at the plug.

These guys are right, if you have the 7 round you have the wiring. GM does not include the fuse needed to make it work so go to the dealer and get one. I know, but the dealer is the cheapest place I have found to get them.

I would either use the 7 pin plug or do what I have done for several years to maintain portability of one sprayer I use in different vehicles--
A deep cycle marine battery will run sprayer pumps for a long time...

I am thinking of using the 7 pin plug idea soon for the truck.

I do alot of towing, so I have the fuse installed. I am now trying to find the trailer side of the plug with some wires for a reasonable amount. One dealer wanted 50 bucks for it.... They should be chaeper than that.... I have not searched the net...

Go to WalMart or any AutoZone. I get them all the time for under $10. They do not have a wire pigtail though, they 7 screws that you put your exiting wires under to make connections to the proper pins.

You're only going to need two wires, positive and ground. Go with the cheapy from Walmart.

Have you put much thought into how you are going to switch the pump?

Could just hook it up to the ground and the running lights. Just use the light switch on the truck to turn on and off the pump.
