The only thing in common with the boss and the western is that they are both red. The boss is a full trip, where the whole moldboard trips forward. The western is a trip edge, where the cutting edge trips back when you hit something. The boss tend not to trip in the scoop mode. I have seen alot of damaged trucks this way. Like I said, I would get the western if i was buying v plow. Like boodox mentioned my next plow is a blizzard. If you are plowing lots blizzard is the way to go. If you need to clear drifts and punch into driveways get a v plow. We just don't get that much snow in MD to make a v usefull when you can get a blizzard.

I'll look into the Blizzard. I plow every time it snows up here in northeastern mass because we have a parking lot that needs to be cleared by 5 30 am if we have an inch of snow or if we have 3 feet of snow.

I just got back from the dealership and I went with a black 3500 none dullaly 8ft bed standard cab. With the duramax diesel engine and a 8 foot boss trip edge plow. Not the V plow.
