Sorry, I couldn't resist. I am getting pumped up. I'm tired of all the hype, I'm ready for the game. I get 3 Pittsburgh tv stations & it pretty much has been dominating the morning news. Go 'Stillers', get on the 'Bus' & strike up 'Big Ben' /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

As a die hard Bengals fan, I can't believe I'm rooting for the Iron City, but ole Ben is a fellow Redhawk (they were the Redskins when I was there). Here we go, Steelers, here we go!

Well, there's one in every crowd so it might as well be me /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.
I'm rooting for NE... and not just 'cause I'm a Browns fan. I want Big Ben to have a good game, but you just don't see teams do as well as the Pats for this length of time anymore. They will probably be dismanteled after this year (coaching staff anyway) and I firmly believe that it's OK to have a dynasty, irregardless of what the NFL wants. That team is just incredible. Where was this Bill Belichoke when he was coaching Cleveland?
I won't be unhappy if the Steelers win, but Ben has lots of years to get back there.

I would also LOVE Philadelphia to be shut down again in the NFC title game. What a great story that would make.

I admit I'm a little confused about how this is related to rural living? Perhaps you have some creative explanation of the correlation?

Cliff,

I guess there isn't a forum for football. And you know all farmers are Monday morning quarterbacks and coaches. So I guess the original poster had this in mind and that is why it was put here, Rural Living.

Now for me, I like the Steelers and would love to see them take care of the Pat's today, however, as good as they are I am not as sure they are as good as the Pat's. But I won't be able to see the games as I have a big project to start today shutting down a complete convience store, remodeling it and having it back up by Wednesday. I will be crabby when I get back with no sleep.

Hey, after watching that game with the New York team last week...(not a real fan, as you can see)...all I can think is:

Who needs skill, when we got luck behind us????

Cliff -- I've given this a lot of thought over the years and think I have the answer. The playoffs and Super Bowl are big events, with many of the viewers people who could care less about the rest of the season. So every year, during these games, I can pretty much count on a sizeable percentage of men watching. So every year I create a list of purchases from big box stores like Home Depot. I make that annual shopping trip during the playoffs or Super Bowl...and find that the store is mostly empty of customers! It's a fantastic time to shop for all those things I need for next summer's projects!

See? Rural Living! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

One of the pet shelters we work with has their showing on Sundays. All the foster owners bring in the dogs & cats and hope an appropriate owner shows up to adopt their foster pet. Superbowl Sunday was by far the most crowded day. I suspect everyone thought it would be the least crowded and thus it had the oposite affect.
