Do I need to push the clutch in when I move the lever to change directions? I have a JD 5085E.

Thanks

Put your foot on the break and stop it then your good to go no clutch necessary.

Thank you

No clutching or braking required on power reverser. The reverser should modulate and make a smooth shift. If it is too jerky, it may need calibration. If transmission does not engage when shuttle shifting, you may have a problem with the seat switch.

Everything works fine. I had two people tell me I was doing it wrong. I was not clutching, always at slow speed, low RPM. Mostly when I move hay.

I have a power reverser tranny also. I move lever to neutral wait a moment then to the other direction.
