Like many of us I have looked at different way's to carry thing's on my tractor. Usually it wound up in the bucket until I reached my desired destination, but that was far from ideal for me.Over the holiday's I decided to clean up some thing's around the shop which included my "good junk" pile...you know the spot, where all of the thing's that might have a useful future wind up,and it may or may not have a time limit for said storage length but the minute you can it... you find a use for it..Well long story short I had been eyeballing some factory mounting hole's on my tractor fender's (I believe they are factory cab mount hole's) thinking I could utilize them for a rack mount, after all it work's on four wheeler's right? But hadn't been able to take the time...
Factory hole's

In the process of moving some thing's I spied the donor for the project, the front rack off an old Yamaha Moto 4. I went ahead and pulled it off the bike after some rough measurement's for a test fit.

Just about a custom fit for my application and cut my fab time in half...Headlight bracket cut off and figuring mounts..I intended to cut the loop's off but decided to keep them for now.

Mount's done,I decided to mount the front to the grab handle and keep the mount off the paint on the fender

Then like everything else I do, I cant leave well enough alone..I have been wanting a tray to hold a few tool's,cellphone ,etc without fear of them falling off..Had some 2 1/2 x1/8" strap in the pile.incorporated the first hole of the rack into a tray..

OKAY..GREAT...so I accomplished to cross off two thing's off of my want list...have a rack to secure a gas can,ice chest etc to, Have a tray that I can put my cell phone etc into without fear of anything coming out...Hmmm been needing a cup holder..front loop will work for that..glad I didn't
cut those loop's off....but what am I going to do with the rear one?? A chainsaw mount is the next on the list of want's....Back to thinking..back to the treasure pile....Had a sheet of 1" thick UHMW I had picked up from somewhere..BINGO..
Start of the saw mount

UHMW cut and fit in the rear loop

Saw kerf cut and secured in the rack

Worked ok but wasn't happy with the security of the saw,too much vibration and slop, and since I have numerous saw's with the longest bar length of 36" I wanted a one for all approach. Hmm back to the drawing board errr..junk pile..

More factory hole's on the inside fender...

So I need to fab a block to secure everything..bingo..Back to my treasure trove..Have some 1/8" aluminum panels that came off a job which should do nice along with the UHMW
Lower support block fab..

block mounted for test fit

Painted and installed

Even hold's my 36" bar secure an d had enough clearance on the three point links..

Total out of pocket expense was about 5 bucks with everything else being scavenged off the place..Merry Christmas all
