I am almost ashamed to be asking such questions about my brand new tractor, but I'm just cheap enough that it's only "almost"!
My tractor is the BX1880, and will already be equipped with the "deluxe fiberglass canopy".
I live in SC where we have decent weather most all year, but y'all I HATE cold weather. I hate being cold, hate it!
I've browsed some of the soft cab enclosures, which are really nice, but they are almost $1500. Too steep for me, as I don't have any demands that force me to be in the tractor against my will in inclement weather.
The Berco brand is getting closer but they are still $400 listed for a garden tractor, which *MAY* fit my baby tractor. The one listed for a SCUT is $700.
I'd consider that, but on this forum I have run across some folks using a golf cart enclosure, and made it look pretty darned presentable! That seems right up my alley. Cheap, easy to remove, good enough for temporary use and temperatures not dropping below 30, and most likely not 40. This way I'd be less likely to put off tasks with the tractor.
I just want something to keep the cool wind off of me. If it's successful enough I would consider also adding a coolant fed heater.
I can only find 2 or 3 examples, though, so I'm asking for anyone who has actually used a golf cart rain cover as a soft cab so post pictures if you don't mind. Especially if it's on a small Kubota!
Many thanks!
I'm not looking to fab anything up with metal and lexan, or wood, or pvc, etc. Not that I can't, but with the prices of materials these days you start to encroach on the cost of a readily available cab.
