Greetings,
Went to local Kubota dealer and purchased a OH kit for the dipperstick and one outrigger, 10 gallons of oil and a filter yesterday.
Picked up a pin spanner from Grainger today.
Doesn't look or sound hard so I'm on it!
Wish me luck!

Greetings,
Done and tested....whew....
From the looks of the two seals I replaced, I will be doing the others on the hoe before too long - it sat outside all it's life while the tractor was kept in the shed.
The "seals" inside the caps and I use that word loosely - had the consistency of green modeling clay....
The wipers on top of the caps were cracked almost all the way around.

Took less than an hour to do both but I had all of the tools laying around including a borrowed 48" 3/4" drive Williams torque wrench and 3/4 sockets to fit each different nut.

Took a little more time to change the oil and filter.
Gotta warm her up and do a 500 hour oil change then hit the water line.
I think I'll drink a beer after the oil change and let the water line wait until tomorrow!

Done a few on my BH. I had to use a 4 foot pipewrench to loosen the caps. If you got yours with a spanner that's great. Lucky for me my buddy owns a sprinkler business with a large pipe wrench.

Greetings,
Yeah, luckily they came off pretty easily.
I did shoot them with some WD40 the day before and let it soak in.
After the initial release from the rust/corrosion between the cap and cylinder, I turned it out about a half a turn, then put some oil in the crack to lube the large o-ring and that helped a lot.

OK, so I just had to go dig up some dirt after supper and the bucket seal started seeping.......back to the dealer to grab seal kits for the rest of the cylinders.....since I'm on a roll.....LOL!

Still good therapy!

My first experience came when the bolt holding the piston onto the cylinder rod came out and the bucket just flopped around. After getting through that I found it's not really too hard and have done several others when I've had a cylinder off, never had a leaky one yet. I try not to raise the outriggers when there's lots of dirt that can get packed into the seal without brushing it off first.
