Good Customer Service from Titan Attachments

It wasn't obvious which forum to put this in, so hopefully this will do.

I had a good experience with Titan and I thought it was worth sharing. I ordered a flail mower from them. Unfortunately, it arrived with a number of parts missing. After determining that about a dozen parts were left out, they decided to send me a full new mower and told me to keep the previous one for parts. That's quite a loss for them to take on the order, so I'm really impressed by the service. Not my first order from Titan and they have more than ensured that it won't be my last.

I had the opposite results with them on a couple of less expensive purchases. Bought a box full of bucket teeth they shipped with the wrong pins and they pretty much ignored all attempts to get it corrected. Finally got paypal to charge it back to them and a couple of months later they sent me a return shipping label.

Bought their gauge wheel set for my landscape rake and it showed up with half the parts missing. Wasted a couple of weeks trying to get that resolved and the package they supposedly shipped with the missing parts fell apart in Atlanta and never made it out of that depot. Finally had to have ebay charge that one back. Long after I had my money returned they sent me a return label. I eventually took a chance on those again and received a set with all the parts but that package was torn all to crap. It was a miracle it had all the parts in it.

That said, if you can get what they advertise, the value is high. I would never purchase anything from them without having ebay or paypal in the middle of the transaction. They seem to have a big problem in their shipping department. Items are loosely packed in flimsy boxes.

Both returns cost me a lot of time and effort. A lot of time wasted trying to communicate with them and I had to repackage everything better than they did for the left over parts to have any chance of getting back to them.

I have a grapple and a stump bucket from them that I bought recently. Both arrived in good shape. The grapple had a fairly light (compared to the grapple) steel cage around it. I'd guess mostly to protect the hydraulics. It was bent up pretty bad. I had to cut it off with an angle grinder. It makes you wonder what the shippers are doing. In any case the grapple was in good shape and that's all that matters.

I ordered a splitting wedge for my dad on Amazon last fall. When the box arrived, the other stuff was their but not the wedge. I had to reorder it and this time I got an empy box. Both boxes had a break in them. If they had just wrapped the thing with bubble wrap, it wouldn't have broken the box. Amazon returned my money and wouldn't reorder the wedge. I think they thought I was lying about it.

Most complaints against them seem to be about losses from damaged packaging. I ordered a set of budget forks from them, which was delayed 2 days when the FedEx driver noticed that the packaging was damaged. They called and asked me if I wanted to refuse the delivery; if they could be damaged that easily, I wouldn't want them.

Lucky for me they are 45 min from my house.... so if I ever were do get something from them... sounds like I will be better off just to go pick it up.

I have bought a couple of things from them with great results. They do have some really good deals and some Chinese junk as well. Farm is about hour away from Horn Lake, MS warehouse so I pick everything up.

I have the Titan Implements U.S. made 60" 3100 series box blade. I'm pretty happy with it aside from the fact that I need to add 200 lbs to it to get the teeth to rip into a hard packed driveway. The standard empty weight lets the teeth bounce over the top of the hard pack, but add 200 LBS and the thing sinks in and rolls the 2A right up and out. As far as plate thickness and weld quality, everything great. I just wish that they put a bar or bracket on it to make hanging weight easier. Instead I make my father drive the tractor while I add the 200 lbs by standing on it and holding on to the tractor roll bar. I really need to fab up some sort of brackets for tractor weights to hang from, what I am doing is not exactly OSHA recommended work practices.
