Buying Advice Good deal?

Hi been lurking for a while great site! lots of good info here. I'm looking at a used 2007 3215 with ml111 front loader HST 4x4 with I think r4 tires (I'm new to tractors) has 39 hours on the clock for $11,700 this does not include delivery of about 75 miles which I will need. How's this for price? I plan to put a backhoe on it immediately. In fact I may have it hauled strait to a local dealer to have a frame mount hoe installed then delivered to me. What would be the best hoe to install on this tractor? What should I expect to pay for hoe and install I would imagine some where between 7k to 10k? Any advice on what I should ask about the tractor or look for. Thanks for any replies.

I have the same hoe on my 2615. It is very capable, and I like it a lot. I got mine used, but new, I believe they are between $6 - 7 thousand. $11,700 is a very good deal on that tractor, too.

That is a great deal for that tractor with those hours. :thumbsup: I would check on a Woods back hoe as well as the Mahindra OEM hoe. These tractors are great little workhorses. Mahindra hoe is made by KTM. My 3215 gear has almost 400 hrs, love it

That is a good price for a low hour 3215HST w/ loader. With 39 hours there can't be much if anything wrong with it, its not even broke in yet. A friend of mine sold an 06 2615HST w/ loader and 3pt rotary cutter 6 months ago for that price. You are also in the price range for the hoe. I think an 07 still has a year to go on warranty (4 years?) or maybe not. I'd go for the 3710 hoe from Mahindra.

Dealer says they can put a backhoe (installed) for $6500 to $7000. I looked at the bradco hoes on line and they are $10,000 just for the hoe. The price seems low to me. Any thoughts?

I think if you want to pay the dealer more for the hoe than $6500 - $7000, he would probably take it

You can expect to pay $6200-$6500 for a factory hoe installed, including one bucket.

Make sure the tractor is paid off if you are buying it from an individual. Have him show you a bill of sale or something. Nothing worse then making a great deal on a tractor only to find out that the owner is really the finance company, not the guy you paid. In that instance, you lose the tractor and have to go after the guy that took your money.

I only have 5 acres but I have some pretty good size jobs to do. The first one (and largest) is a water swayal about 225' feet long by about 6' or 7' feet wide and probably 5' deep at the exit point. I have water issues on the property so I will have one more smaller area to install tiles in and a lot of erosion areas I will need to backfill with dirt. I just recently put in five 9' tall 1000lb pine trees and may put more in later. Is this tractor backhoe combo the right size for me? I don't plan to use it to cut grass although who knows what the future may hold. Thanks.

I have decided to put in an 8" tile instead of the swayal. I will be starting another thread on this issue. Thanks.
