Good Deal?

Really know nothing about equipment trailers. Found a used one. 10 foot, single axle, 6,500 lb axle, wood deck in good shape, tilt bed, good tires with spare, break away brakes. $1000. Seems like a good deal. What do you say?
Tractor weighs 4400 lbs dry and I'd also haul a Kubota RTV side by side. Both would be occasional use. Tow vehicle, Chevy Colorado rated for 7000lb tow.

Price seems good, but I personally do not like small trailers for heavy machinery.
4400 lbs is a lot of weight on a single axle trailer, and at best will be a stressful tow.
jmho... others here use small trailers.

Tractordata lists the Branson 3725 as 129" long, don't know if that's w/ FEL but suspect not. So that gives you a 9" hangover. Do you have a FEL? Will you want to carry ANY attachments? Even 4 chains and fuel might add a hundred pounds or so. How much does the trailer weigh?
Seems for a maybe 5 hundred more you should be able to find a 4 wheel trailer w/ a 7k capacity.

And trust me - 4 wheels are nice. My 12K Hudson had a blowout one week ago on I81, tore the tire apart, smoking when I stopped. But since I had another tire on that side the only damage besides the tire was to my wallet. Slap on a spare and roll on. Didn't even hurt the rim.

If you are only going to tow short distance SLOW local it might be worth the chance.

Thanks for the feedback. Really helpful and some things I had not thought about. Probably more marginal than I was thinking. Hmmm.
Where would you go to find a used trailer? Craigslist?

CL is ok, but more seem to be advertised on Facebook --> Marketplace. But it's a pain to muddle through.
