A question about photo labs. Let's say you came in with a Pro quality photo that was clearly worth some good money. What assurance do you have that someone working there doesn't print off a couple copies or even worse than that take a copy of the file and sell it or distribute the file. Is that something to be concerned about and if so how do the Pros deal with it?

There must be pretty good security given that pros use these services all the time. I'd guess that most employees are college kids who have little interest going into business for themselves selling stolen photographs.

If you are concerned about "theft" then it is easy to put a nearly invisible watermark into the digital file. Look at professional portraits. They all have those and many are not so subtle. Anyone who printed it would print the watermark too and obviously if they copied the file they would have copied the watermark.

I wish my photographs were worth stealing but I don't think I have anything to worry about.
