As you might have noticed from my previous thread on chilli, and my waistline, I like food. I also enjoy conversing with folks around the country about their traditions/cultural norms weather it be on farming or food. This time it's food. My geographic culture is Western Ky on thr Ohio river of very early French/English descent. However we don't a BBQ tradition. It's more of a fish culture. I can even recall Dad/Grandpaw having fried fish for breakfast. The one thing I do recall a lot of the "old" men eating was cornbread and milk. Real cornbread, with cornmeal, cooked in a iron skillet a few crackins and a bit of onion. Crumble that up in a tea glass, pour milk over it and eat it with a spoon. My question to each of you who cares to give a positive post, What cultural food traditions do you have in your"neck of the woods"? Thanks and have a blessed day.
