Hello All,
I was an equipment maintenance mechanic for many years and also mowed with the Farmall Cub Hi Boy
that Grandpa bought the year I was is born 1951.
We are now looking for a place with less property taxes and a little acreage So I bought a John Deere 4200
tractor that had, well it was a salvage auction.
A little of this and a little of that and with the Lord's help it is a nice shiny thing that purrs like a kitten.
The 4200 26hp is a standard trans with only a single spool hydraulics and I wanted a Loader so when a JD 4400 37hp hydrostatic tractor with remote hydraulics came up for salvage auction I bought it too. Both tractors are the same basically.
This 4400 is the main reason for my joining the forum. It is the second 4400 tractor built out of a few hundred thousand. Anyway it sat outside in southern Georgia for many years without the sheet metal on it and when I pulled it onto the trailer the rear tires would not roll... skidded it up on the trailer.
Does anyone know how to free up the rear tires on a John Deere 4400 hydrostatic tractor? On the smaller mowers there is a pressure relief valve. I know what you are thinking but I am convinced that this tractor has very few hours on it.
Actually does anyone have any knowledge on the 4000 series tractors?
At any rate Thanks for the Forum and hope to become involved.
Gary
