Just spreadin' the news. The NOAA long range weather site is calling for an early and warm spring with above average temperatures for most of the summer. That's the good news and just in the nick of time. Now there's something in the weather department to look forward to. Here's the site...

Climate Prediction Center - Seasonal Color Maps

The brown on the maps means warmer weather and the percent of probability of that warmer weather occurring. Looks good and the darker the brown the better the odds. Any blue, if you can find it, suggests the cool side of things. So far, I see lots of brown and it's all good. Well, except for parts of the Pacific Northwest so if you're from there don't look.
Now, where's that bucket list...

I'll take warmer weather, now that I have a cab tractor.

What worries me is the map below the temp one, the precipitation one.
Unless I'm reading that wrong, sure doesn't look like much rain coming.
Now I looked at those maps again, and most of the maps show equal chance of
anywhere from lots of rain to little rain. Huh? Not very helpful.
Well, at least we know it's going to be warm. Wonder if this increasing warm trend will
impact on the crops planted, particularly after last year's drought.
On the flip side, our Canadian and Alaskan friends may have a slightly longer growing season.

In eastern PA I can't even get my tractor out of the shed it's so muddy.

Time to get serious about garden planning.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

well i'm already late should have had ground plowed 2 to 3 weeks ago and it so wet now if it didn't rain or snow anymore still be 2 weeks. man if it gets dry and hot quick and the ground start's cracking our crops will suffer.

Well, a warm spring would be nice, but I sure as heck am not looking forward to their prediction of a warmer than average June-July-August period. blech. Hopefully they're less accurate further out in the forecast.

Not to worry (unless you're in the Texas or the southeast). If the map is white, is means "normal". So only the brown areas are predicted to have below average precipitation. PA looks good.

Looks like a hot and dry year for Texas. Again. Sorry to those folks.... conserve your water....
