GOod price on mx220 ?

I like high hp 2wd tractors . And i found a 02 mx220 6,500 hrs for 39,000$. which i think is a good deal .I wish the new holland 7000 series came in 2wd which i think it does who knows but anyhoo.most of the 2wd mx's are 70k but not this one . also was thinking since this is a big 2wd tractor 18.4x16.1 would be nice one the front .what type of transmission did the mx series have ?

The reason it is so cheap is because of 2wd. However, that still seems like very good deal for the hours. Even with 2wd, it is a lot of tractor. The tranny is a powershift. Complaints I have heard about the MX was electrical issues (newer model), hydraulic leaks under the cabs which required removal of the cab to fix, and I believe these had a CAPS fuel injection system on the earlier models. Yours is a 2002 and it may have the high pressure common rail injection system. The CAPS is prone to occassional failure were expensive to repair. Does not like dirty fuel or air in the system. Many problems occurred when changing fuel filter and getting air or dirt in the system. Lots of people have never had any issues. Electrical issue better resolved on the later models like yours.
Cummins motor and tranny are well proven and very reliable. Hydraulics were changed on magnums for better access.
We bought a Magnum 245 two years ago with MFWD, gps, suspension front end and multiple other options for 170K. Ours has about 1500 hours and has been reliable except for getting computer to talk to the planter. Yours seems like a bargain. We sold our Case-IH 8930 2wd for more than that mx 200. Less tractor, older series but about the same hours. The 89xx series was a great series for Case-IH.
