I found this while searching for mowers. Its a 1980 with 1100 hrs. I dont need the plow but i do need a mower

I have A John Deere 400 with 20 hp Kohler engine, hydro trans, power steering, full hydraulics, 60" shaft driven deck, ag tires and wheel weights. Also has snow plow with full hydraulic controls. $2200

This tractor is more than a mower, it's almost compact utility sized. Price seems about right, but condition can make or break that. The plow typically sells on Ebay for between $300-500 if that helps.

Great garden tractor for sure, one of the best ever, but as bontai Joe stated condition means everything. Check the machine over very carefully. Although 1100 hours is low for a 400, it's Kohler K532 twin engine can cost darn near that $2200 purchase price to replace if worn out. It's a risk to be taken with every used machine, but some of the oldies but goodies are worth putting some money into as they are just far superior machines to the new ones made today. I would be much more inclined to invest $4-5k in to refurbishing a couple of JD 400's back to like new condition before I would spend over $10k for a new JD X700.
