It wasn't until he dragged home a skull...a human skull...that they finally figured out just what he had been eating all that time!
Several years back, a friend's sister and her b/f were living out of town in a fairly wooded area, more scrub brush than trees. They noticed their big dog wasn't eating very much for a few days and just figured, since he appeared normal in all other ways, that he was off his feed and would eat more when he got hungry or that he had found something else to eat. It wasn't until he dragged home a skull...a human skull...that they finally figured out just what he had been eating all that time!
I know one thing for sure...they never let that mutt lick their faces again! After that, do you reckon they put the dog out before takin' a nap on the couch?
It happens! We (the wife, and the neighbors) all joke about how long the dogs would make it on our bodies before someone would find us--If it is just me, 3 days, with my wife.....well I had beeter not finish that thought
