In 2005 I picked up a lightly used PJ 7x12 Dump trailer. My wife thought I was insane but I just had to have it. The trailer was an 04 and two states away.
It happened to be late winter on a Sunday when I saw the CL ad. No pics of the trailer but the seller assured me, if I saw it I'd buy it. He was absolutely right. The trailer has served me well all this time. Only needing new tires(dry rot) and the occasional paint touch up. I also have a flatbed that I've rarely used so I got thinking about selling them both and buying a larger new dump.

I decided to post on Cl yesterday and the phone rang off the hook until the new owner came today to pick her up. I was actually a little conflicted about letting her go:(. I can say enough good about how solid the PJ unit was. I'm fairly certain I'm going to end with either a new 14' or 16' PJ or Loadtrail in the very near future.

A few pics of the old girl:

A while back I had a small covered trailer that I decided sell. I too was conflicted. To add to my agony, it sold within a few hours of posting on CL. I probably should have ask for more.

Trailers seem to be a hot commodity. Earlier this year I posted a 6x12 enclosed on CL. As has been pointed out by others, it wasn't there very long before a guy from about 70 miles away sped up here to grab it.

put a Duck/Fishing boat on CL and had a bidding war for about 3 days!

I have a new 22' equipment hauler coming and I was going to sell my 18' but they cost nothing to plate each year in Michigan so I am going to keep it. CJ

what was your buy/sell numbers? break even? (minus cost of tires... or even with cost of tires?)

why did you sell? what changed between when you had to have it several years ago and now?

I actually sold it for $1800 more than I paid. The tires were in the $500 range. I decided that I don't need two trailers and the 12' dump was a bit too short for my tractor. It's looking like I'm going to order a 16' PJ with all the options I want. Nothing really changed I just haven't hauled the tractor as much as I was planning. I use the dump almost every weekend during the warmer months and rarely used the flatbed so I just seemed to make sense.
