Hi-anyone have experience using gooseneck extenders. I have a short bed p/u and a new 8'wide trailer that I kissed the back window with and I want to do what I can to avoid that again. Looking at ones that go in the bed hitch, and ones that go in the trailer hitch and I can't find much about which one is best (better) or the relative advantages or disadvantages of each. A new LWB pickup is not in the budget at this point. Any help from folks would be appreciated. Thanks. Bill

All I can tell you is watch your bed rails. The extender helps save the back glass but limits clearance to the bed rails in a tight turn.

Do you know if she has had any problems with using them as far as adverse effects on the hitch in the bed or on the trailer?? Thanks. Bill

No problems. It is a two horse, 8' wide, slight taper on the nose, with a small dressing room. Going forward she can turn full lock, do a 360 and it clears the cab and the side of the bed. The bed is the shortest, 5' or 5.5', whatever Ford uses.

I can't vouch for that taller tube type posted above, never seen one. Pretty neat though. But I've used the other, flat plate type. I had a 1 ton mega cab, very common to mash the cab on these with an enclosed tongue gooseneck. I pulled at least 20k, probably more with that setup and never a problem. The hitch and extender were both b&w
