Anybody have a problem with rodents? What are your thoughts on this product Home

Checked it out and thought "wow, really cool". Checked the price and thought "wow, really expensive!" Looks like a leaf blower with the exhaust piped in to the fan/air exit. I'm sure I am missing something??

I saw a weedwhacker turned into one of these on youtube. The guy got rid of unnecessary parts and extended the exhaust pipe and stuck it in the tunnels it looked pretty funny with smoke coming up in spots all over his yard.

A thousand dollars for an out of tune leaf blower seems a bit absurd!!!!!!! MikeD74T

I would think ... around here we use a gopher plow with gopher bail. Used ones can be bought for about $500

The problem I've had is moled and at least they admit that their Cheetah is probably ineffective for moles and voles.

Moles are a problem here in VT too. What do you use to deal with them?

Nothing that has worked. A mechanical trap never caught one. Mole Max granules did no good, and neither did a liquid repellent that I got at Home Depot. Someone on TBN said he had good luck with juicy fruit chewing gum, so I used a few packs of that. Maybe the drought this year helped. But nothing else did.

A six pack and a 12 gauge. If you can see the runs go out about 10ish in the AM and watch for movement then blast the little buggers. Or, you can watch the tunnel, stick a shovel in behind the actively moving tunnel and pop them out and whack them with the shovel. When we were kids we used to use calcium carbide (The stuff miner's used to light their miners' lamps on their hardhats.) It looks like pea gravel. Dump it in the run pour water on it and let it permeate the tunnel matrix. About 1/2 the time when we were kids and got bored waiting for it to work we would put a waterproof fuse in the tunnel and light it. If you had enough gas vapors it would explode. We thought it was cool. We got paid by our parents and neighbors to kill them. Not if we tore up their yard though. I don't know if you can still get the calcium carbide or not.

The only success I've had is with the Victor Out O'Sight mole trap. Stomp an active run way down and straddle the run with the trap. Works some of the time, but have to be VERY persistent. Quite frustrating. I like the idea of this product of gassing them with CO... gonna come up with a way to try that next spring.
