Well, I checked the mail today and I had a letter from AGCO with the following comment:

"We realize the importance of after sales parts"........, "therefore the loss of local support has an unfortunate impact on us all"......, "The loss of a dealer not only impacts local economies and the community but personally affects your ability to conveniently source parts" etc., etc.

Apparently, my local dealer that I just bought my 2310 from has either gone out of business (after 50+ years) or has quit selling MF. I think they have gone out of business as I tried to call them and didn't get an answer.

For anybody that lives in the area, this is Farmers Gin & Tractor in Warrior, Al.

This was my BIGGEST concern in buying a MF tractor. There just aren't many dealers around here. Now the closest dealer to me is almost two hours away.

I LOVE my MF tractor but had I known that I would lose my local dealer, I would have bought a Kubota instead as there are dealers everywhere around me.

What's worse is that my 50 hour service is due and I was going this weekend to get the filters/fluid for it. Now, I'll have to kill half the day to make the trip.

Sorry, but I just needed to vent a little because this really ticks me off. Especially, since I told the owner prior to buying the MF that I was concerned about only having one dealer nearby. His response to me was "we've been here 50 years and aren't going anywhere soon". In all fairness, there could've been unusual circumstances (health, death, etc.) to their closing (if that's what happened).

Oh well, I've got to burn off some steam so I'm headed to the backyard to dig some holes. :D

Sorry Drag, possibly since they sold equipment in your area for so long someone will at least pick up the parts sales? In the mean time there is always mail order.

Sorry to hear about your dealer closing down. I agree that a good dealer is more important then what color the tractor is and will buy accordingly. It seem that allot of my local dealers are switching brands too. The Kubota Dealer used to carry New Holland, but that's gone and a new guy just opened up a New Holland place on the other side of town.

Before driving to the dealer for parts, take off your filters and go to Napa. They handle all sorts of big equipment and tractors. I buy my filters there for allot less then my dealer sells them for, and I think I'm getting better filters too. The only one Napa didn't have was the fule filter, and my dealer wanted almost $20 for that, so I went back to Napa and bought an inline filter that's easier to change and doesn't leak like my original one did.

Sorry your MF dealer has gone, but have you seen any agco dealers closer the 2 hr drive ? agco has alot of different colored tractors that can make your repairs, IE-, case , international. check tractor house under their search, by putting in your zipe code, and see if there is a dealer closer.
best of luck

I'll almost swear to seeing their tv commercial within the past 2 weeks. Are you going to have to go to Clanton or is there a dealer in Culman?
