Well, I checked the mail today and I had a letter from AGCO with the following comment:
"We realize the importance of after sales parts"........, "therefore the loss of local support has an unfortunate impact on us all"......, "The loss of a dealer not only impacts local economies and the community but personally affects your ability to conveniently source parts" etc., etc.
Apparently, my local dealer that I just bought my 2310 from has either gone out of business (after 50+ years) or has quit selling MF.
I think they have gone out of business as I tried to call them and didn't get an answer.
For anybody that lives in the area, this is Farmers Gin & Tractor in Warrior, Al.
This was my BIGGEST concern in buying a MF tractor. There just aren't many dealers around here. Now the closest dealer to me is almost two hours away.
I LOVE my MF tractor but had I known that I would lose my local dealer, I would have bought a Kubota instead as there are dealers everywhere around me.
What's worse is that my 50 hour service is due and I was going this weekend to get the filters/fluid for it. Now, I'll have to kill half the day to make the trip.
Sorry, but I just needed to vent a little because this really ticks me off. Especially, since I told the owner prior to buying the MF that I was concerned about only having one dealer nearby. His response to me was "we've been here 50 years and aren't going anywhere soon". In all fairness, there could've been unusual circumstances (health, death, etc.) to their closing (if that's what happened).
Oh well, I've got to burn off some steam so I'm headed to the backyard to dig some holes.
