I got a class 1 quick attach hitch today, spent an hour trying to get my bush hog on, finally had to take it off and attach it straight to the 3 pt,,then tried to hook my generater up to it and no go.

WHAT IS THE TRICK?,,,,,anyone use them? or is it a $120 paper weight:confused2:

Unfortunately,a lot of implements are not quick hitch compatible. The only solution is to modify the implement to fit. But..good news, once you do this, they become extremely easy to hook up. When shopping for the next implement, make sure its QH compatable....

Did it come with an operators manual? I have never seen one for $125, usually over $400 but you get all the right pieces. Maybe the cut rate one did not come with the pieces you need. I bought a Harbor Freight one for $85 on sale, did not have all the pins and bushings, the top hook was too short, the bottom hooks too wide for all the implements by 1/2", and the tractor side bottom pins 3/4 instead of 7/8". Bought the pins and bushings, cut the hook apart and welded in a spacer, bored out the too small holes, and ground 1/4" off each side of the hooks. Now for less than $200 if have a $400 doller attachment. Works like a champ. Once you get it on the 3PT and all adjusted, if you take it off you don't have to fuss with turnbuckles, pins, cotters, and wrenches. you may have to move the upper hook up and down for different implements. I got rid of the bolts and installed 1/2" hitch pins. I change implements in 10 min or less where before it was at least 30 min and sometimes more, and down on the ground a lot. Some implements like the mower do not hook on the upper hook. Check your manual for each implement. You can make the short straps meeded if not on the implements, stack them and drill a 1/2" hole in each end. Hope this helps.

I will never go back to the old system. Now I want a hydraulic top link. Oh, it is on a BX25.

I'll go with the paper weight. I bought two and sold them both within a week. But many of my implements are not standard and I run Cat 1 and Cat 2 attachments on the same tractor. (Well, the BX only runs Cat 1.)

If the QH is the rigid frame one from Harbor Freight or Tractor Supply (and even Landpride) then you must have all of your implements modified to fit the QH frame.

On the other hand, you can get the Pat's system, or similar, and it will fit all of your implements as they are constructed. I've used three Pat's in both Cat 1 and Cat 2 and never had a problem.

You do have to get off the tractor to hook up the top link. If you hook the Pat's up to the balls it extends the lower arms about 2" so for some implements the tractor's PTO will need an extension (for about $20).

The Pat's slide-in if you have sliding lower arms is a perfect fit-up.

I had difficulty with my land pride QH at first. I tried it on my woods back blade, rake and box scaper. My problem was I did not have the QH perpendicular to the ground, it was angled. I used the top link a got it straight up and down. Works perfect every time now.

I have a LandPride Quick Hitch. I find that there are some implements that it works very well with, and others require some fiddling with the top link, but in all cases it's much preferable to use verses not having one at all.

For my carryall and tiller, I works fine for just scooping up the attachment.

For my blade, I find that I usually have to adjust the top link.

For my bush hog, I make sure that I drop my bush hog (rottery cutter) on cinder blocks, as when it's resting on the ground the pick up pins are to low for the quick hitch. I found that I had to get a new pto shaft, as when I was doing a hill the bush hog was way below the tractor and the shaft was to short, which was aggravated by the quick hitch adding 4 inches to the hook up length.

For my PTO implements, when I hook up or detach the PTO, I make sure that I level the pto shaft so that it's a straight on or straight off. It makes hooking up the PTO much easier.

I have the landpride and with most implements it works perfect, some I had to do some minor adjusting to the top link but once that was done I would not give you a plugged nickel for any other system.
I have a Pat's system hanging on the wall I will sell real cheap.
