We got a BCS 722 with 8hp B&S. It is set up for 20" tine, expandable to 26"(about a 20 minute process).

We went with the BCS because of a really good dealer and service department. Price was comparable to the Troybily Horse, and so were capabilities. Came down to a good local dealer to work with.

I'm going to try it tomorrow...

Guess everyone knows that TroyBilt got bought out about 3 years ago? Couldn't get parts for my Tomahawk because of that a couple years ago. Have heard that they may have resumed building parts for it now.

Is your Tomahawk one of the older up right models that is about the size and shape of a file cabinet? MTD did not end up with that line, it went to Murray. I don't know what parts are available if any from them, but you might want to check it out. If your Tomahawk is the short unit with the long cone feed tube, then that went to MTD. I'm not sure what the status is for parts on that. There is a dealer in north NJ that handled the complete line of Troy-Bilt back in the day. The BCS and Troybilt seemed pretty equivilant. Part of the deciding factor was the dealer and service department. It's not because we expected to need service, it's that the dealer was really great. We have bought other stuff from them too; they are really great to work with.

I use a lot of Husky stuff too, because of that particular dealer. I really like Stihl, but I have a great Husky dealer/service right down the road.

I talked to a couple dealers who carried Troybilt. They had not seen a "cheapening" of the Troybilt line since MTD bought them out.
