After reading the forums on TBN for some time and talking to 2 owners of Kubota tractors, the wife and I went shopping and bought a 2001 BX2200 with 586 hrs. on the clock. The BX came with a Curtis soft cab, 60"MMM, LA211 loader, and 50" snowblower. The dealer we bought from gave us a 50 hr. warranty on the tractor and 2 new sets of blades for the mower. I have installed a grill guard I got off ebay. I built a heavy duty carry-all. I have just gotten the Bro-Tek skid plates in the mail today. I bought a shop manual and parts manual from one of the suppliers listed on TBN.
We are upgrading from a 1979 JD 317 tractor that we have owned for over 20 yrs. I have to say, the Kubota is a lot more tractor, also a lot more money, but it can do so much more. We have had the tractor about 3 weeks and we have moved gravel, tuned up the driveway, dug up some of the yard to level off a spot for the grandkids new swingset, mowed several acres 3 times already. I'd like to get chains for the rear and looking at adding heat to the cab. I'd like to figure out a way to leave the loader valve with the tractor, it's a pain to remove the loader with the cab on. The new BX2350 leaves the valve on the tractor. The valve is needed to also run the blower. I think I can do it. I know I can make the change, just have to do some head scratching and figure it out. I like the power steering, it spoils a guy. The Kubota turns sharper than our old JD 317, I'd never have believed it till I did it myself, amazing. The diff lock is a very nice feature, don't need 4wheel all the time.
I want to power a 39" buzz saw off the rear pto. Another project to figure out, let the fun begin.
I want to thank TBN and all it's members for the great input on this tractor, it helped me decide to buy it and to go orange over green, for which I'm taking some flack.
Thanks all,
