I have trouble hearing on the telephone with or without my hearing aids. Saw my audiologist last week for some hearing aid cleaning. Asked her about it, e.g. whether I could get my bluetooth hearing aids to receive signal from my bluetooth phones directly like a friend of mine does. She suggested the free CaptionCall service.
A lady came this morning and installed my CC phone. It sits parallel to my other phone and does everything better and provides captions for live phone calls and messages. Also can record calls for playback later. Don't need to touch the other phones which WILL NOT send directly to my hearing aids unless I updated my (expensive) hearing aids.
Works off the internet Wifi like the other phone.
She also installed CC on my iPad. If I had a smart phone, could have it there, too. This required a different telephone # for the iPad. Can talk to my wife with her inside Lowes and me in the parking lot, which is a way nowadays. Put the # into the dumb cell phone. This is because Lowes has Wifi. My iPad is Wifi rather than cellular.
