LS MT225E, Yanmar 2210
This battery spent the first 7.5 years of it's life in my fishing boat, as a starter battery for a 75 Merc four stroke. It was rarely on a charger, and the boat would go unused for long stretches, particulary in the winter. Generally, it was very reliable, considering the neglect it was seeing. I probably had to jump start it two or three times over the years.

The battery in my Yanmar 2210 gave up the ghost last year, so I moved the fishing boat battery to the Yanmar, and replaced the fishing boat battery with new (better to be be stuck with a bad battery on a tractor than a boat).

As the weather started getting colder in the fall of 2020, the battery started to struggle starting the Yanmar. I finally had to replace it earlier this month.

Eight+ years of service. Pretty darn good, in my book.

I had a gel cell in my first tractor that went eleven years. I got nervous and looked for a replacement. By golly - they didn't make that battery any longer. Lasted too long and the manufacturer wasn't making enough money. I put an Odyssey AGM on my Kubota. Being a group 31 it has enormous CCA - 1150. I'll be interested to see how long it lasts.

That battery you had there was a good one. Did you find another new one like that one.

Yes. Bought another marine Everstart.

Great. It's seldom that a battery will last beyond 5 to 6 years around here. And where I live here would be considered ideal conditions for a battery, I guess. Dry as a popcorn fart and generally cool.

I also have a marine Everstart in my NH1920 that is in it's 3rd year of service. Only issue has been that my + cable battery connection had to be redone after it developed some some slop in the cable strands. Turned the mounting strap over and splayed out the strands for more contact area and seems fine now.

If you keep 'em hooked to a "Battery Minder" or "Battery Tender" or such, you will be impressed with the increased longevity.

I use Delphi HD truck (semi) batteries in my farm tractors. Group 31's, 1150 CCA. I pay 65 bucks each for them wholesale. Usually go 4 years and then replace.

That's an increible price for a 1150CCA battery.

Good Jars as well. Only thing I have to do is add taper posts to the screw posts. Commercial truck batteries are all threaded terminal. 4 years of farming takes it's toll on any battery. I do have knife switches on the negative terminals on them and I break the circuits when not in use.
