Congratulations, 3362MWF! Most of us don't do the trick with the roll bar and floor joists, though; we just use a big tree limb./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Congratulation 3362MWF.
I guess you be spending more time on your BX than the boards. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Birds right about the tree limbs but lets not forget about the mail boxes when plowing during the winter. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Take care and enjoy some tractor time on your new /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif BX.

Yup, many of us have had embarrassing moments while getting use to a new machine. Cracked my garage door molding first time I took it out of the garage with a rear blade attached (just never had a protrusion behind me before). Cracked a brick on the house first time with a loader. Before long, you become accumulated with the size, and are buzzing around like an old pro.

Last month, my neighbor's teenage daughter got their LT hood stuck under a deck. Since her folks weren't home, she came over in tears ("Dad's going kill me"). Let some air out of the tires and that did the trick. Like her Dad told me latter, better lessons learned with the tractor than when she starts driving the car.

Thanks for the warning! I'm still waiting for my BX (this Thursday) but I have a few trees that I'm used to mowing under that have some low branches. I'll have to remember that the roll bar can't duck!

ROPS = Remembernot Overhead Plowing Structure

Congratulations on your new BX. The first day I got my (former) BX my sons were in the middle of their summerlong house painting adventure. (They learned by trial and error. Mostly error. Before they got it right, they painted everything but the house: windows, grass, plants, dogs, cars, etc. Looks great now that it's finished.)

Anyway, back to ROPS. They had a ladder leaning against the side of the house. I wanted to mow the area under the ladder. Then I remembered the superstition about walking under a ladder. Started wondering if that applies to driving a tractor under a ladder. Then I got ticked at myself for worrying about superstitions. What's this stupid superstition stuff anyway. So I drove right under the ladder.

Oops. Forgot about the ROPS. Yep, it clipped the ladder, which came down and somehow actually got entangled in the ROPS. (No one was on the ladder.) There was dad, the great tractor driver, yelling for someone to get this 28 foot ladder of his new toy.

Remember these stories whenever you even THINK about driving under something. Maybe you'll succeed in being less foolish than some of us have been.

Congrats!!!

Sorry I didn't pick up this post until after I butchered my garage door. It didn't occur to me to simply remove the entire ROPS each time I put the tractor away. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Hope you're having as much fun as I am with the new plaything.

I'm so used to relying on the fact that my "clearance instincts" are based on driving a 4 post FOPS tractor (Ford and L35) I'm thinking of adding an additional set of front posts to the BX, with a sunshade, very light, not for protection but anything but dust, but visual-clue helpful. My JD Garden tractor doesn't have a rear rops so I'm wondering how long it will take me to run the BX into something!
